Internal Sulfur Cycling SANI (ISC-SANI) Process for Biological Wastewater Treatment
A method for removing organic carbon in biological wastewater treatment comprising the following steps: (a) using elemental sulphur as an electronic carrier to oxidize the organic carbon to carbon dioxide and reducing the elemental sulphur into sulphide; (b) using an automatic ORP controller by controlling one or more reflux ratio to maintain the redox potential (ORP) in the range of -360mv to -420mv so as to oxidize the sulphide into elemental sulphur through the nitrate of reflux; (c) refluxing the elemental sulphur formed during the oxidation of the sulphide to oxidize the organic carbon; and (d) oxidizing the ammonia nitrogen to nitrate and then partially refluxing for sulphide oxidation.
